A semester with 55% work!

on Friday 16th of December 2011 my first semester in KHIB just finished. we had the semester evaluation in the first week of December and then some left lectures. Writing a semester report at the end of the term helped me understand that i had used half of my energy on studying and the rest for learning the language and getting used to living in Bergen. I really need to be more focused in the next semester and work harder. I have to read so many books on Visual Rhetorics and Semiotics. We had the basic communication theories with Morten W.Knudsen who was a real great lecturer and made us learn the basics of the visual studies very well.I am looking forward to the next term to begin and study the books he told me. In the last day of the semester I had a very short interview with him about my master project and at the end he told me that they are delighted that I study in this school! =)
I also made a new blog for the joint project we had by the name ofour group "Idea Hunters" and uploaded our project descriptions there.
To have an overview during my 1st semester of master of Design in KHIB I had the honor having classes with Torhild Eide Torgersen, Linda Lien and and Bente Irminger,Randi Benedikte Brodersen and Jena Habegger and also Anthony Quinn from London.

introduction courses

in the 1st week of the Master of Design in kunsthøgskolen i Bergen we had 5 days of different and very exciting classes named "introduction course".
we talked about creativity and design and the description of our master project to each professor and it helped us to have more clarified vision to what we are going to do in the nest 3 semesters. one of the most exciting classes was with Ole Hamre the famous and creative Norwegian musician. I took a picture with him and I will never forget how energetic he was. :D

Good news

Changes are about to happen :) some sort of big changes! After being busy thinking of studying abroad in the winter, I applied for the Bergen National Academy of the Arts (KHIB) in April 2011. During this time I continued my job as a graphic art instructor in Dino Danesh institute of higher education. After teaching photography in the autumn semester, I started teaching Poster design and computer graphics again in the spring semester. Meanwhile I received al letter from Khib that I was invited for an interview on June 15th. Having lack of time for applying for a visa I responded to their suggestion to have the interview on the phone. We had the interview on June 15th and it was really good. After a few days on June 21st I had a LETTER OF ACCEPTANCE for the MASTER IN DESIGN AT KUNSTHØGSKOLEN I BERGEN from Mr.Ingjald Selland the director of Academic Affairs! :D wow! that was great! :D new opportunities! new experiences! I can not really say how I feel in that moment :))
Since that day I have been involved in the visa process, ticket, learning Norwegian, Packing & ...
and I am going to leave next Wednesday August 25th at 2 a.m
Shall it be my last post from Tehran?

Naser Palangi's painting exhibition

I went to Mr.Naser Palangi's painting exhibition in Pardis Mellat art gallery in February. he invited me by e-mail and although having French class, I attend there with my sister for the opening ceremony. There were lots of famous artists there :) and I loved his painting. I whole heartedly wish I had enough money to buy one of his paintings! I loved them conceptual and aesthetic wise :)

Koorosh Shishegaran

During my researches for the history of poster design in Iran, I met Mr.Koorosh Shishegaran who was a great poster designer during the Iranian revolution in 1979. He was very kind and gentle and helped me with gifting some issues of his original revolutionary posters and giving good explanations during 3-4 times that we met. Since then we have kept in touch and when Dr.Gruber came to Iran in December 2010, I arranged a meeting for these two to meet each other in order to talk about the Iranian revolutionary posters. I enjoyed the meeting and we had a great time watching posters and talking about them :) His son Pouya also did a great help talking about posters and where they had been presented. This picture is taken by him in his father's art studio and beside me there's Mrs.Shishegaran and Dr.Gruber.

A beautiful day with Masters

It was a great pleasure to me that Mrs.Ch.J.Gruber the professor assistant of Islamic Art in the Indiana University came to Tehran this December and I had the chance to spend a whole day with her. I also had another chance in the same day for meeting Mr.Naser Palangi the great Iranian artist and his kind wife Mrs.Farideh Zariv who is also a professional artist. We spent almost the whole day together taking photos of Ashoura ceremony and after that they invited me to their apartment which was a real cozy and lovely place. Their apartment was full of art symbols and I could also see their paintings there. Mr.Palangi & his wife were really kind to me although they were old friends with Mrs.Gruber. I will never forget that day it was exactly December 16th, 2010. A few days after that I met Mr.Palangi in Imam Ali museum of religious arts in which Dr.Gruber had a presentation on Miraj nameh books and their illustrations. He signed his book for me named "Objective drawing and subjective drawing". I also enjoyed Dr.Gruber's speech. it was very professional and laconic. :) I was so excited for being among these great artist and art specialist that I will never forget the Ashoura day and the night of presentation in the museum. :)

these are photos of Dr.Gruber, Mr. Palangi, Mrs.Zariv and me :)
