Naser Palangi's painting exhibition

I went to Mr.Naser Palangi's painting exhibition in Pardis Mellat art gallery in February. he invited me by e-mail and although having French class, I attend there with my sister for the opening ceremony. There were lots of famous artists there :) and I loved his painting. I whole heartedly wish I had enough money to buy one of his paintings! I loved them conceptual and aesthetic wise :)

Koorosh Shishegaran

During my researches for the history of poster design in Iran, I met Mr.Koorosh Shishegaran who was a great poster designer during the Iranian revolution in 1979. He was very kind and gentle and helped me with gifting some issues of his original revolutionary posters and giving good explanations during 3-4 times that we met. Since then we have kept in touch and when Dr.Gruber came to Iran in December 2010, I arranged a meeting for these two to meet each other in order to talk about the Iranian revolutionary posters. I enjoyed the meeting and we had a great time watching posters and talking about them :) His son Pouya also did a great help talking about posters and where they had been presented. This picture is taken by him in his father's art studio and beside me there's Mrs.Shishegaran and Dr.Gruber.

A beautiful day with Masters

It was a great pleasure to me that Mrs.Ch.J.Gruber the professor assistant of Islamic Art in the Indiana University came to Tehran this December and I had the chance to spend a whole day with her. I also had another chance in the same day for meeting Mr.Naser Palangi the great Iranian artist and his kind wife Mrs.Farideh Zariv who is also a professional artist. We spent almost the whole day together taking photos of Ashoura ceremony and after that they invited me to their apartment which was a real cozy and lovely place. Their apartment was full of art symbols and I could also see their paintings there. Mr.Palangi & his wife were really kind to me although they were old friends with Mrs.Gruber. I will never forget that day it was exactly December 16th, 2010. A few days after that I met Mr.Palangi in Imam Ali museum of religious arts in which Dr.Gruber had a presentation on Miraj nameh books and their illustrations. He signed his book for me named "Objective drawing and subjective drawing". I also enjoyed Dr.Gruber's speech. it was very professional and laconic. :) I was so excited for being among these great artist and art specialist that I will never forget the Ashoura day and the night of presentation in the museum. :)

these are photos of Dr.Gruber, Mr. Palangi, Mrs.Zariv and me :)

Of one Essence is the human race, thus has Creation put the Base;

i designed this poster for a calligraphy and typography poster exhibition in Ukraine today. I have used the old Iranian type of calligraphy called "Nastaliq" and the text is the poem of the famous Iranian poet "Saadi" which is used to grace the entrance to the Hall of Nations of the UN building in New York with this call for breaking all barriers:

"Of one Essence is the human race,
thus has Creation put the Base;

Play for Africa

fph1rebsse6eo5ks36s8.jpg

I designed this poster for the world cup 2010 this summer when all the world were looking at Africa to see what would happen to soccer teams.
African masks are used in this poster as one the most important symbols of African art and culture. Two masks are the representatives of white and black race and obviously the pink heart is the symbol of love between different races. Sport occasions such as the World cup are the best symbols of love and peace between nations. The colors of the World Cup 2010 ball have been considered as the sign of South Africa and other African countries flags on the head of the masks and also the same pattern is used in the title of the poster. May the message of happiness and peace reaches everyone round the world just as it is the message of the world cups.

Teaching in an institute of higher education :)

Hi, as i told u ive been teaching graphic for 2 years (so i guess it should have been since September 2008 probably!) and i ve been teaching graphic design in the "
Tehran Institute of Technology (Niavaran Branch) and i had taken photos of my students' works but i have never thought of uploading those designs in my blog. About 2 months ago my father called me and said that an institute of higher education is looking for a Graphic art instructor who can teach lessons such as Layout, Designing signs, Poster and graphical softwares, well that was good news! i could be very helpful and it could be a very good experience for me too! so i decided to go there right away and thanks God it was not too far from home just an hour time to get there in the usual traffic of Tehran!
The institute was called "Asre Dino Danesh" (ADD) and it was a branch of "Applied Sciences" University which means "Elmi Karbordi" in persian. I had my first experience in the summer term there and i taught Layout/Phtoshop/Corel Darw/ designing signs there. I also had good students and this time i decided to upload their files! in order to let them be known and let myself see how i have taught them! :) i can also have an electronical connection to my students to let them know about different news while not seeing them.
here's the blog: http://dinodanesh-gd.blogspot.com
photoshop and corel students were not the first ones so i was not very much excited for what they had done, however the Sign Design and Layout works were really good ones. Therefore i made a blog and uploaded my students' works there. I will be happy if you have time and take look ;)
